ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is 4:39 friday afternoon and I am preparing to leave my office. yes- I blog at work - I don't have time to do it at home HELLLOOO! I am so freaking excited about this weekend - ask me why.......

Okay-okay-okay - I am going to be all alone - no husband - no kids (Jason if you read this please know that I will miss you terribly and there will times during this weekend that I will feel as if I can't go on living without you - you are the love of my life) ANYWAYS - alone - by myself - no crying - no whining - no fighting - no spills - no mess - no husband asking me why I have not had sex with him all week - HMMMMMM..... maybe it is because he has the worst poison ivy rash that I have ever seen - all over his body - ALLLLL OOVVVVERRR -(get my drift). Frankly I did not want to wake with my Vajayjay covered in it.

Off track - sorry - How did I get so lucky to get this free weekend - Well jason will be going to the deer lease and taking Chase and Chandler. Autumn will be going to her dad's and so will Chance. Yes you heard right - I got my ex-husband to take my current husband's kid for the weekend. SCORE!! Pretty cool - I am very lucky that we (me, jason, ex) all have a pretty good relationship and we have been able to put everything behind us and take care of these kids.

Confession: I secretly hope that Chance craps his pants this weekend - SO wrong but it feels so right.

Plans: We have just started the remodeling process in our master bath - so I am going to go look at stores that I would not go in with a nearly 4yearold that thinks he is a TRANSFORMER/NINJA/SHARPTOOTH DINOSAUR.
Have you ever seen what a TRANSFORMER/NINJA/SHARPTOOTH DINOSAUR acts like??
Its a bit scary and definitely not suitable for the paint aisle at Home Depot or the antique consignment store. Trust me on this. Besides that I am just chilling - probably do some SCRAPBOOKING - I'm tough like that. I'm gonna go to the grocery store and I will be able to leave without the following items:
1 half eaten slim jim
2 toys from the .99cent aisle
2 empty cans of monster - that no one knows about (Chase and Chandler and sometimes Jason)
25 assorted colors of candy sprinkles that came off a donut the bakery lady gave Chance (Word up donut lady)
1-3 action figures - Chandler has an obession with the small army or bmx action figures - He also knows how to look at me and melt my heart
1-5 various bottles of TAG or any other similar deodorant body sprays - Chase is obessed with his personal hygiene and he loves to smell good for the ladies

Well I will let you know how it all goes - I bet by Saturday evening - I will be missing everyone - I will get through it.

if you ain't first, you're last

We are officially (6th grade PeeWee Football) undefeated this season. Okay - so we have only played 1 game - whatever - we freaking won it in double overtime. Thats what I am talking about - I am still flying high from that victory (last saturday). We have a biweek this weekend so the next game is 9-6. Can't wait -

For those of you who know me - you know I am a horrible loser - Not a very good role model for the young ones but at least I am keeping it REAL. We did not win one single game last season and by the end I hated everyone and everything. I swore off PeeWee football and didn't even want Chandler to play. This year has breathed new life into me - The parents are AWESOME and the kids are FANTASTIC. They not only play very well - they are just good kids. There were some kids last year that I really thought about beating up. I actually contemplated going to jail just so I kid whoop their narrow butts. In reality it was the parents that needed the ass whooping - not the kids. Oh well - in the past and I am moving on. Right!!!

So I will keep all of you updated with the games - Chase's as well. This is the last year of PeeWee football for us until Chance is old enough to play. 3 years from now Chance will suit up and bust some kids up. That's right - 1st grade is when he can play in FULL PADS - none of that FLAG sissy football.
That's how we do it in TEXAS.
Yes I just wrote that - I love it when non Texans talk about how TEXANS are so mouthy and boastful about our state. GET OVER IT - if you lived here you would do it - Its required - you must do it to get your drivers license. Right after your Eye test - you must come up with 3 reasons TEXAS is superior over all the other states. You get a sucker at the end if you can make fun of Yankees.

Back to school

YEAH!!!!! The kids went back to school. Wait.... am I supposed to be crying and gripping their shirts as they walk out the door - begging for my babies to return. WHATEVER

I am so glad school started - think what you want about my insensitivity but peace and order has been restored in my house. Everyone back on a schedule and constantly busy. There really is no other way to be with 4 kids.

Chase (oldest - almost 14) is the BOC (big man on campus) this year - 8th grade and he thinks he is so cool. I think he is pretty cool myself. He plays football for the school and practice started the first day of school. He seemed pretty confident about it. He is a great quarterback - being that he is nearly 5 foot 8 - he has a great arm and can see over everyone. He went through a huge growth spurt this summer. Went up 2 shoe sizes since the end of May and at least 2 inches. No weight gain - all height. Doc said that on average a boy continues growing about 2 years after puberty begins. Chase started the BIG PUBERTY about 6 months ago. I am sure that he would kill me in my sleep if he knew I just announced that to the entire world. So I think he is gonna be tall.

Chandler (11 yrs) - 6th grade - 1st year in junior high - I was a bit nervous about this transition because Chandler is a little fellow (66pounds) - HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF SOME OF THE BOYS THESE DAYS???
Here is a comparison to bring things in focus for you:
Chandler is 66pounds - Chandler's good friend is 5 foot 7 and 209 pounds - He is the largest kid on our football team and all the kids on the team are in 6th grade.
Thank God he is Chandler's friend and not his enemy - So that is where my concern has been with Chandler and school. All has been well so far - Chandler is quite the character so I think he will have no problems with kids at school.

Autumn (8yrsold) - 2nd grade - We made the decision to hold Autumn back last year so she is in 2nd grade again. Autumn was diagnosed with Dyslexia at the end of 1st grade. I so wish i would have held her back in 1st grade but really did not have the support and resources for Dyslexia that I now have. She has accepted the retainment well and has a really positive attitude. I really like her teacher and she knows all about Autumn and her issues. Keep your fingers crossed this year goes well.

Chance (3 almost 4) he started his Early PreK program at Premier Academy - because of his age he will have 2 years of PreK. Thank goodness - I think it might take 2 years to get him to reform to class rules. He has to wear a uniform and it is so cute on him. He seems to already be the teachers pet. Ms. Pauline loves him to death and Chance really enjoys being with her. She is an older woman and I think Chance has warmed to her because she reminds him of my mom - GMA PK.

So far so good...

My daughter turns 8 tomorrow

Autumn will be celebrating her 8th birthday tomorrow- WOW! I can't believe she is that old. I clearly remember thinking how awesome it was that she was born on August 22nd, 2000 @ 2:22am. That's cool - has to mean something -right ??

We start this celebration tomorrow by having a day for just me and Autumn (very excited about this - with 4 kids it is hard to pull one out and have alone time - unless we somehow had no jobs and rented a Villa in France) ANYWAYS ------- Autumn will be getting her hair cut and styled at 10am and then we are going to buy 2 DWARF HAMSTERS ( what in the world am I thinking) Why 2 you ask - Well because Autumn said it would be better to get 2 because 1 would get lonely - (she is the smartest kid ever) She is also quite the little business woman - she has decided that if the 2 hamsters have babies then she is going to set up a stand on the sidewalk and sell them "for like 25 cents" - To hell with a lemonade stand - she went right to small mammal stand.

I am quite worried about these hamsters getting out of the cages. We live in an area with alot of new building going on and at times have issues with mice (that is understated - THEY ARE RATS) - my worries are that the escaped hamsters will somehow pair up with the mice and take revenge on us.

Why you ask would the mice/rats feel the need to take revenge on us. Because the last time we had a rat problem - we (jason, chase and myself - 10pm) decided to hunt it down - traps, poison, pest guy - WHATEVER - We need action and we took it. We hunted that rat down with a blow dart gun for 45 minutes - turned every piece of furniture over in the downstairs and Chase and I screamed like girls when that thing appeared. Did you know that a rat will run up a Hot Wheels car ramp at about 5 miles per hour. COOL!!!! In the end the rat magically disappeared behind the stove and took along with it 3 blow dart arrows.

I expected to have a horrible smell fill our home within a week or so but no sign or smell of the DIRTY RAT since.

Good times....

Pictures

What the hell - for the life of me, I can not figure out how to pose for a picture. I always look like I am trying to hard and end up with a stupid face. So now I make a stupid face just to be ---well --- stupid.

Where has the time gone?

Well school is starting on august 26th and I am ready for it. The summer has been a very unusual one - The kids seemed to be gone alot and although a break is nice - things just aren't the same with out all of them around.

Tonight we will be going to Chandler's orientation at the Junior High - I can not wrap my head around the fact I have 2 kids in Junior High this year - Chase is going into 8th grade and Chandler into 6th grade. Where did the time go?

I was watching Chase last night (we were at Chandler's football scrimmage) and he is now officially taller than me (i'm 5'7") and walks different, his voice is different, he interacts with adults and kids differently. Different but good. *Mature* that's word I am looking for. He is 100% NOLAND (my mothers side) - very handsome. Along with this maturity his relationship with me has changed alot. He is not as quick to hug or kiss me - it seems he may not believe that I know everything anymore - it also seems I may not be the only woman in his life. I'm quite irritated with this maturity thing - Although it has brought out great qualities in him - it has also taken away the qualities that you love in little boys. I guess that is a fair exchange - just not fair to me.

No worries - I wont' go all "Britney" and start losing it. I will just take the hugs and kisses when I can get them and try not to embarrass him in front of his friends.

RECIPE FOR DISASTER

This event took place at the end of March (2008)

Ingredients:

1 - 3 year old boy (we happened to have on hand - Chance)

1- quart (not a tube but a QUART) A&D ointment (Greasier than Vaseline)

1 - small plastic boat (I am pretty sure that we have 62 floating around our house -so if you need one let me know)

Prep:

Put the boy, boat and ointment in the bathroom
Leave alone for 5 minutes

I have attached pictures of the finished product. Take note of the hair on the 3 year old boy - So Shiny and his skin is like velvet. Truly amazing.

Clean up:

This is the part that I am not too fond of. In hindsight - I would suggest either calling a HAZMAT CREW or just pack your belongings and move. I spent about 2 hours cleaning the boy, boat and bathroom. The boy had to have his head shaved - that took about and hour to do since I had to stop every 10 seconds and clean the ointment out of the shaver.
Also just in case you were wondering A&D ointment makes a great floor polisher. We don't actually walk into the bathroom yet - we get a running start and slide in on our backs hoping we can grab the toilet and it use to slow us down before barreling into to bathtub.

Confessions of a Football Mom

Okay here it goes - I know nothing about the game of football - I know when you score it is called a touchdown other than that nothing. I am sure most of you reading this are amazed. We are consumed by football starting in March and it last until November. Chase and Chandler both have played for the last 4 years. Jason coaches Chandler's PeeWee team and Chase plays for his junior high. I am at every game- I am the team mom - I make my own shirts to wear to the games - I bring my own noisemakers - I am the perfect football fan. Yet I can't tell offensive from defensive. Sure I know the words, drills, plays, names, game times, game directions, snack schedule, cheerleaders, I know everything about running a football team but that is where it ends.
Don't pity me - I'm fine with it - I still love football - I love the smell of the concession stand - the hard metal bleachers - the 100 degree texas sun beating down on you while you act like a raving maniac yelling for your childs team. (I yell alot and I can make it sound like I know what I'm talking about) - I really love the cold games (not very many of those) - I love to see my husband smile on the field when one of the kids does well - I equally enjoy the moments when he is not so happy on the field - I love seeing the kids give it everything they got and play hard- I really love seeing huge grins when they have won and I also like (not as much as winning) comforting them when they lose.

So although I may not have learned the rules of football over the past 4 years - I would not trade what I have learned from it for anything in the world.

Potty training

it finally happened - Chance is potty trained. It has been a long year of trying to convince the child that the toilet would not swallow him alive if he sat on it. He has had the standing up to pee part down for along time but sitting on the toilet was a big fight and only happened 2 or 3 times since the training began.

We tried everything; reward charts, candy, toys, begging and pleading and even made up songs about #2. Other people in our lives even tried - grndma PK was here for 3 months and she couldn't get him to do it. She finally gave up and started washing him in the backyard with the hose.

But in late July the news came through - It was around 5pm and Jason called me to announce that Chance had came home from preschool and proceded to sit on the potty and do his business. WOOOHOOO!!!!!!

There have been a few mistakes but over all everything is going good. Of course Chance is very proud of his new "big boy" status and invites everyone in the house to look at his creation before he flushes it. We all take turns viewing - the things you do for a toddler. One more thing - Chance announces that he has to go #2 by saying "My butt is starting" - the child is a born comedian.
