to my belly...
You and I have had some great times. Really great times. In fact just about a year ago You and I were doing this:
Good times...
It's been a great run. You have never let me down when I called upon you to stretch and hold my precious cargo. You grew and you grew and you never tired, never complained.
You left but a few little stretch marks, just enough to remind me how hard you worked for me.
But here we are, no growing baby, no expanding uterus, no anticipation of new life. We are are just here, existing with each other. Long gone are the days of me rubbing you and taking delight in your transformation to become the holder of my babes.
Just a sad stretchy shell is now left ...
When I look at this picture of us, it saddens me. Why is it that you were once so loved, but only when you were stretched out with newborn life fluttering inside. Now all that is left is sad saggy skin, a few stretch marks and muscle damage that has been deemed only fixable with surgery.
We must end this love/hate relationship. Its not you, its me. I promise. I don't think its a good idea that we remain friends. I need to move on.

Aww...yeah that is a really tough break up! Hey.. I love your blog! Super sassy.. (of course I may be saying that only because I don't want to get throat punched... ) but really its cool ;) Thanks for dropping by and joining us for Blog It Forward Tuesday! Little google is telling me I am already following ;)
Have a great week!
Ha ha creative way to talk about it. I hate my stretch marks and flab left over from two kids. Running helps but alas, the skin won't ever go back to its original state. :(
Hi! New follower here! I just have to say that I feel your pain and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog! Have you tried the Tracy Anderson Method? I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with my newly saggy skin, and it seems to be helping. Just thought I'd throw that out there. (I'm a bit workout obsessed right now....)
And for what it's worth, I think that stretch marks and saggy skin are wonderful reminders of the little people we love so much (until the skin goes back to where it's supposed to be) :)
My mother in law has always said that a tree that's born fruit will never again look like a sapling. I sure wish it would though. It is amazing how fast they grow up!!
@Brea - I am a workout fool. Loving my results but sad little tummy is just not responding. I will be having a "Mommy Makeover" on Fefbruary3rd. Ccheck back for updates on that :)
Thanks for following guys!
wow, those are some amazing pictures. i wish i had had the foresight and thought to take "love pics" with my belly.
i love your belly "after" shot too. You and that belly....have been through a lot....with a few peeps involved...now it's time for just the two of you.=)

THat darn stretched out skin that my lovelies left behind!! Booo!!!! I look like a gerbil on my treadmill trying to chase it away...but alas, I fear it is here to stay. Let us know how your surgery goes...we want detail!!

I love this post and have belly art envy. Truly, what great pictures and what a wonderful sentiment about the love hate relationship we have with our bellies.
We jumped ship at 4 kids (a 5yo, 3yo twins, and a 20 monther). But I sometimes miss a belly full of *something*. You know what I mean, something spectacular.
Happy RTT.
haha - I so would love to break up permanently with my "extra" flab! The thing just keeps sticking around no matter how sternly I tell it to go, go figure!
We do ahve lots fo great memories though & for that we shall always be grateful!
Looking forward to seeing the Mommy Makeover!

Your "after" tummy doesn't look so bad! After two kids and a 150-pound weight loss, I'm having tummy tuck envy. Love the blog and will happily follow your progress, taking notes for the future.
